NEW YORK CITY – April 15, 2025 – Hundreds of demonstrators gathered outside The Summit NYC on East 43rd Street for the Stand with Palestine protest, just one week after a violent attack on pro-Palestinian demonstrators shocked the city. Organized by Within Our Lifetime (WOL) and supported by groups like Healthcare Workers for Palestine, Neturei Karta International, and Mamas 4 A Free Palestine, the rally called for an end to the genocide in Gaza and condemned ongoing Zionist aggression and police inaction.
The protest was a direct response to the April 7th incident, when projectiles—including bleach, rocks, and feces—were thrown at peaceful demonstrators from a balcony of The Summit, injuring participants and narrowly missing children. Despite police presence, no arrests were made—further fueling outrage and calls for accountability.
A diverse coalition of speakers led chants, including women’s rights advocates, healthcare workers, and anti-Zionist Orthodox Jews. Members of Neturei Karta, dressed in traditional Hasidic garb, held signs denouncing the state of Israel and reaffirming that Zionism does not represent Judaism.
Tensions ran high as counter-protesters arrived with pro-Israel signs and flags, leading to several verbal altercations, all under the watchful eye of NYPD officers and independent media. Despite the confrontations, the energy of the protest remained focused and resilient—centered around solidarity, liberation, and remembrance of lives lost in Gaza.
The protest marked not only a demand for justice, but a growing movement reclaiming space, narrative, and resistance in the heart of New York City.
