CHiPS Annual Gala Raises Over $160K to Fight Hunger in Brooklyn

n Thursday, October 23, CHiPS hosted its Annual Gala at 501 Union in Park Slope, celebrating the nonprofit’s pillars of food, friendship, and service. The evening brought together neighbors, volunteers, and supporters—and ended with CHiPS surpassing its $150,000 fundraising goal, raising over $160,000.

The night honored Marc Gordon, named the 2025 CHiPS Champion for his years of volunteer leadership and innovations that improved the soup kitchen and pantry’s efficiency, and Trinity Grace Church, the Community Partner Honoree for its ongoing support through food donations, programming, and volunteer efforts.

Hosted by actor David Costabile (Billions, Breaking Bad), the program featured heartfelt remarks from former resident Njambi Morgan, who spoke about her experience finding stability and community through CHiPS.

Brooklyn’s top restaurants—including Insa, Al di La, Gage & Tollner, Runner & Stone, Medusa the Greek, Park Slope Ale House, Purslane, and Ole & Steen—donated food and services. Sponsors included Wilkie Farr & Gallagher, Brooklyn Sports & Entertainment, and NewYork-Presbyterian.

Guests bid on auction items like Knicks and Nets tickets, island vacations, and local business memberships, helping fuel CHiPS’ mission to fight hunger and homelessness.

The night reflected the best of Brooklyn—community, care, and a shared table that welcomes everyone.
