Washington, D.C. — March 14, 2026: A Fixed Moment spent the day at Awesome Con inside the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, where thousands of fans, cosplayers, and creators came together to celebrate comics, anime, gaming, and pop culture. Traveling from New York City proved seamless—a quick Amtrak ride followed by a short trip to the venue—making the experience feel accessible from the very start.
Even within just a few hours on the convention floor, the energy was immediate. Cosplayers filled the space in every direction, transforming the venue into a vibrant, immersive world where creativity and self-expression took center stage.
Cosplay Across Every Corner of the Convention
Cosplayers ranged from iconic superheroes to deeply detailed original creations, each bringing their own level of craftsmanship and personality. Characters from across pop culture were represented—from multiple interpretations of Superman and Shazam to a striking Kratos from God of War, a towering Fallout power armor build, and a visually captivating Monkey King.
Throughout the convention floor, it felt completely natural to see attendees transformed with elaborate makeup, armor, horns, and vibrant color—each one met not with surprise, but appreciation.
Group cosplay added another layer to the experience. Coordinated ensembles, including Wicked-inspired characters and robed fantasy builds, created moments that felt cinematic and immersive.
