Puerto Rican Day Parade !!

The Puerto Rican Day Parade held on June 9, 2024, in New York City was a vibrant celebration of Puerto Rican culture, history, and contributions. The event, now in its 67th year, took place along Fifth Avenue from 43rd Street to 79th Street, starting at 11:00 AM and drawing in a crowd of over a million spectators​ ​.

This year’s parade theme, “Boricua de Corazón” (Puerto Rican at Heart), highlighted the deep connection Puerto Ricans feel to their culture regardless of their physical location. The parade was dedicated to the municipality of San Germán in Puerto Rico and the Puerto Rican communities in Hawaii​
The event featured a variety of vibrant floats, marching bands, and cultural groups showcasing traditional Puerto Rican music and dance, such as salsa and bomba. Honorees included prominent figures from various fields like entertainment, journalism, and sports, such as Lisa Velez (aka Lisa Lisa), Bianca Graulau, and José “Piculín” Ortiz​

Numerous folkloric dance troupes and musicians performed, creating a lively and festive atmosphere along the parade route. The event also served as a platform to raise funds for the National Puerto Rican Day Scholarship Fund through the sale of official parade merchandise​
