April 26, 2025 – Times Square, NYC
Even a persistent drizzle couldn’t dampen the spirit of Project Dance NYC 2025 as dancers from across the country—and around the globe—gathered in Times Square for a powerful day of open-air performance. With each leap, lift, and lyrical turn, dancers brought messages of hope, resilience, and artistry to one of the busiest intersections in the world.
Founded on the mission to inspire culture through integrity and dance, Project Dance is more than just a stage show—it’s a global movement. This year’s New York City edition featured dozens of dancers performing through the rain on a slick, reflective platform, surrounded by curious tourists, seasoned New Yorkers, and a sea of umbrellas.
From tightly synchronized group movements to intimate duets, each performance was filled with emotional storytelling and spiritual undertones. One standout moment came when a group of dancers, dressed in flowing brown and green tunics, moved with solemn strength, forming striking shapes against the neon-lit backdrop of Old Navy and towering digital billboards. Another performance showcased dancers in matching blush pink two-pieces adorned with 3D floral appliqués, spinning and lifting one another in what felt like a celebration of rebirth.
Project Dance, originally launched after the events of 9/11, has since expanded to cities like London, Hong Kong, Sydney, and Paris. Its New York performance remains a signature event, not only for its cultural resonance but for its ability to transform a commercial epicenter into a stage for healing and beauty.
Audience members lingered well after sets ended, many filming, clapping, and smiling despite the damp weather. In a place known for its bustle, Project Dance created a rare moment of pause—where movement met meaning, and faith met footwork.
