A demonstrator wearing a mask depicting President Donald Trump crawled on all fours while attached by a chain to another protester in a motorized wheelchair during the No Kings demonstration at Washington Square Park on Saturday, October 17, 2026.

The performance was one of several examples of political satire seen throughout the afternoon, as demonstrators used costumes, signs, and street theater to express criticism of the Trump administration.

The scene highlighted the role of creative expression and political commentary in public demonstrations, with protesters using humor and symbolism to communicate their messages.

NO KINGS NYC 👑🚫 | LIBERTY, JUSTICE & THE POWER OF PROTEST 🇺🇸

Lady Liberty showed up in chains, the power of the ballot box took center stage, and creativity was everywhere at the No Kings protest in Washington Square Park.

From elaborate costumes and political satire to handmade signs calling for democracy, accountability, and change, New Yorkers found their own unique ways to make their voices heard.

Some messages were serious. Others brought humor and sarcasm. But together, they reflected the passion, frustration, and creativity of a city that has never been afraid to speak its mind.

These are just a few more moments from today's demonstration, captured through my lens.
